Paper Flower Tutorial (spring has sprung)

These flowers are surprisingly easy to make - and because there is so much pretty paper out there, the possibilities of what you can do with them are endless.

What you will need:
Paper
Glue
a toothpick or kebab stick

First use the template to cut 3 six petal flowers.

Then make a single cut to the middle of one flower. Cut one petal out of the second flower (it should look like a teardrop) and cut two petals out of the third flower (it should look like a heart) Don't throw anything away.

Spread craft glue on the first flower - on one of the petals next to the slit that you cut.
And stick it underneath the petal next to it (the one on the other side of the slit)
Do the same with the other two flowers, it should look like this:

Next take the teardrop petal and roll the left side inward with the toothpick and then the right side.
Glue the two sides together.
Take the heart shape paper and roll the both petals outward (away from you).
Now comes the trickiest part (which really isn't too tricky). Roll the left and right edges towards you and glue them together.
Now take all the different petals you have made and curl them outward, one by one, with your toothpick.
Cut the ends off any of the parts that are too long (check first by fitting them into eachother) and make sure all the parts have holes in the middle.

Put glue on the smallest piece and fit it into the second biggest piece, like this:

Do the same with all the other pieces. Make sure that the different layers of petals don't alighn perfectly. And don't only put glue right at the bottom of each piece because you may want to cut parts of the bottom off later depending on what you are using the flower for.
If you want to attach wire/a stick then place a small amount of glue on the tip of your wire/stick and insert it. Let it set and then if you want it to be more secure, tape it up.
And you are done. Now you just have to decide what to do with them. I hung some in lanterns. You could use them with fairy lights (just dont put the inside layers too close to the light bulb - you might have to leave out the inner layer:), or make a bouquet or whatever your heart desires...
Enjoy!
